Title: Nkhonde massacre site at Kambwe

Description: The Nkhonde kingdom was a well established kingdom in the Northern part of Malawi. The community kept cattle and were famous for banana farming. They lived during the slave trade period and they had managed to protect their village from Mlozi, a notorious slave trader, by sheer will power and use of locally made spears, knives, bows and arrows. However, Mlozi eventually managed to overpower one Ngonde village because he fought with guns against the latter's weapons. The whole village was wiped out; farms burnt, livestock butchered and strong young men and women taken into slavery.
